  • Employed Working Training

    Employers may request Employer Worker Training (EWT) due to new technologies, new production or service procedures, upgrading to new jobs that require new skills, and/or workplace literacy. A national or industry-recognized Certification or Certificate Reimbursement must result. There is a 50-75% in-kind match up to a maximum of $2,000 per Trainee.

  • FloridaFlex Grants

    This training program is designed to help relocating or expanding businesses cover training costs for new employees after jobs have been created or retained. Find out if your business is eligible for training expense reimbursement. FloridaFlex Grants are administered by CareerSource Florida, Inc.

  • Incumbent Worker Training

    Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) grant funding provides current employees with additional skills to promote advancement opportunities and employee retention to allow businesses to effectively compete in the global marketplace. The IWT program is administered by CareerSource Florida, Inc.

  • On-the-Job Training

    Learn more about this federally funded program that provides financial reimbursement to employers for hiring, training, and retaining new employees. A portion of a new employee's wages may be reimbursed during the training period.

The U.S. Department of Labor established the Federal Bonding Program (FBP) in 1966 to provide Fidelity Bonds that guarantee honesty for “at-risk,” hard-to-place job seekers to employers who want to hire them.

Employers receive the bonds free of-charge as an incentive to hire these applicants. The Federal Bonding Program was designed to reimburse the employer for any loss due to employee theft of money or property up to $5,000 during the first six months of a selected individual’s term of employment.

The goal of a pre-apprenticeship is to meet employer needs in finding skilled and qualified talent. A pre-apprenticeship contains a set of workforce and talent development programs for an industry. This creates a career pathway for individuals interested in obtaining the skills needed to work in occupations in this industry. The program framework includes the ability for employers to select curriculum for their specific needs.

A pre-apprenticeship framework provides a blended learning plan driven by employer requirements, online skill assessments, work readiness, work experience, and stackable credentials that are industry recognized and additive to the pre-apprentice’s resume.

The goal of the PREPARE Team is to address those factors associated with a high risk of recidivism and low levels of work readiness. The PREPARE team conducts intensive support services to individuals who have been arrested or incarcerated. The individuals are guided on interviewing skills, resume building, and assistance into schooling. Additionally, hiring Reentry population gives employers the opportunity to use the Federal Bonding Program and Work Opportunity Tax Credit. The Federal Bonding Program is an insurance policy that covers the employee for a six month timeframe. This policy protects the business against loss as a result of fraudulent acts by dishonest employees. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is an incentive for employers to hire this population. It is a federal tax credit that reduces an employer’s federal income tax liability by as much as $9,600 per employee hired.
